According to the BBC, the Brazilian is expected to
earn about £220,000 a week as well as other bonuses which could see him
rake-in about £65m.
The deal would take the 28-year-old into the top five earners in the EPL where Wayne Rooney is No 1 on £300k a week.
After making several attempts to land a mega move
for the player to China, owner of Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian revealed
that Chelsea have made it known Diego Costa will not be allowed to
leave for now.
“Is everything calm now? Yes,” Chelsea boss Anotnio Conte told the BBC. “Diego is a really important player," he continued.
“The situation is very clear. He is very happy to stay with us. He is very happy to fight for the title.
“Will he stay here for a long time? Yes, I think so. I think so.
“I see him every day and I see his commitment, his behaviour is very involved in the team. He loves this club.”
If this pulls through, the move will put an end to
speculations that the former Atletico Madrid man could be lured with
big money move to China.
He will also become one of the top-five earners in the EPL where Wayne Rooney is number one with £300k a week.
