I shower three times a day, Shirley Igwe reveals

Nollywood actress, Shirley Igwe doesn’t belong in the category of women who do not need to be padded, made-up or wear several sorts of masks to be beautiful. She had beauty bequeathed on her by nature, so much so, before she left school she was already the beautiful face of Delta Soap.

In a recent no-holds-barred one-on-one with Potpourri, the former Principal Protocol Officer to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State revealed a lot of secrets about her routine and some intimate stuff.

Shirley-Igwe

Telling us five intimate things about herself, she said, “My bra cup is 42c. I shower three times a day and I brush after a meal. That’s the much I can say. The actress also told us she is in a very serious relationship that may get her into the next level, but declined on the identity of the lucky man, owning up as much that he is not an actor and explained why she can’t date an actor.

“I would want someone with a different profession. Not like one can’t fall in love and marry an actor. If I wasn’t with my man now, I would be hoping to marry someone with a different profession. Marrying an actor has its advantages because he would understand your work unlike someone who is not an actor. Even at that, it’s not enough reason for me to marry a man because he understands. I see my fellow actors as colleagues,” she said.

Brazil supreme court suspends senate leader

Brazil’s supreme court on Monday suspended the Senate’s powerful speaker, Renan Calheiros, ahead of him going on trial for alleged corruption.

Protesters on Sunday had held a demonstration demanding the ouster of Calheiros, a key ally to Brazilian President Michel Temer.

The speaker’s immediate suspension and upcoming trial are seen as badly destabilizing for Temer, who has been struggling to lift Latin America’s biggest economy out of crisis since taking over from impeached leader Dilma
Rousseff.

The supreme court last week ordered that Calheiros, 61, face trial for alleged embezzlement. He has denied accusations he used public funds to make maintenance payments to a woman with whom he had a child.

Tea can kill your sex life!

Satisfying woman in bed is on of the important things that make a man worthy of his sex.

A man with weak libido or weak erection can’t be a happy man; just as his partner is likely to keep wondering what the problems are.

Yet, physicians warn that the choice of tea that a man drinks might influence his performance in the bedroom!
The average person loves to drink tea, especially as a part of breakfast meal any day.
Nutritionists say tea is good, and there is no time of the day that it can’t be taken. However, sex experts warn that certain teas are not recommended for men, because such teas can kill and bury a man’s ability to have erection and satisfy a woman sexually.

One of such teas is the licorice tea. According to researchers at the University of Maryland Medical Centre, it is best to seek pre-approval from your doctor before you embark on drinking this particular tea!
They warn that if you eat a few pieces of black licorice, it won’t hurt your sex drive. However, eating a lot of it could. And how do you determine the quantity when you gulp it down as tea?
The scientists warn that consuming licorice can result in hormonal changes, including a reduced libido in both men and women.

Like licorice, like mint tea
Another tea that can also wreak havoc on libido is mint tea. Just like the licorice tea, mint tea can be bad for the libido as well, experts warn.

“Mints and mint oils are flavoured with menthol, which can reduce testosterone,” an expert warns.

And, you’d better believe this, there are teas that combine these two elements. It’s called Mint Licorice Tea!

JAMB: No Sales Of 2017 UTME Application, Yet

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has urged the public to disregard the speculations that it had commenced the sales of its application documents for 2017 UTME by some group of persons.

The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, debunked the speculations in a statement on Sunday in Lagos.

According to the statement, the Registrar of the examination body, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has expressed disappointment with the development and calls on innocent Nigerians not to fall prey.

“The public is hereby notified that JAMB has not commenced the sales of its application documents as advertised by some unknown and desperate persons.

“They are to disregard any website or individuals claiming to be in possession of these documents and offering same for sales.

“We are putting finishing touches to innovation and changes to ease the challenges associated with the procedure of application for the 2017 all Computer-Based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

“We are looking forward to announcing the commencement of the sales of these documents very soon,’’ the statement quoted the registrar as saying.

The statement advised the public to feel free to contact the board for clarification on its activities through its website or contact numbers whenever they were in doubt.

It noted that Oleyede had announced his willingness to open the board’s door to the public to make valuable contributions and also report any act against the board’s pedigree by either the staff or the board’s development partners.

“We must all be interested in what happens in JAMB, as it is too important to be ignored.

“Help us to watch over where our eyes cannot get to, hear where our ears fail and be our police where our presence is insufficient,’’ the statement said.

It added that the Registrar had restated the board’s determination to ensure that nobody was spared in sustaining and advancing the credibility of the board.

Miss Anambra’s sex tape saga will affect other pageants, says former Miss Tourism — Sharon Anya

In the wake of the sex tape saga of former Miss Anambra, Chidinma Okeke, that threw several media into pandemonium, there have been worries that other pageants may not hold as much credibility as they used to. The Miss Anambra saga which Nollywood is even attempting to make into movie raised many questions about pageants in Nigeria and some enthusiastic pundits have been painting all sorts of pictures what to expect in future.

Meanwhile, Potpourri talked to a former beauty queen, Ambassador Sharon Anya, Miss Tourism Nigeria 2015 and she also holds the belief that pageants may not be what they used to be. “It will certainly affect other pageants.

The organisers have to become more transparent, and let the criteria be properly spelt out, and being more transparent means, everybody should know why the winner won, and on the other hand, the contestants should always go for official meetings with her lawyer and manager before signing any contract”, she offered.

When asked if it is true that beauty queens cut corners to win at all costs, the Mass Communications graduate of Igbinedion University said it is a possibility and maintained that it is not exclusive to pageants. “It happens in any other field. Some journalists go the extreme to get top interviews, even in churches, there are pastors that use diabolical powers to get to the top.

Some athletes use drugs to get to the top, there are those that would want to do anything to get to the top of their careers, in every field. There are those that break the moral boundary in pursuit of a goal, others won’t, it’s everywhere, so it’s not peculiar to pageants only.

“I don’t know her to know what went wrong, the act was wrong but the person…I can’t judge. For future pageants, have a team, have a manager and a lawyer. For me, I got into Miss Tourism Nigeria pageant for a purpose and not to be famous.

My pageant is about promoting tourism , women empowerment, leadership across the country and attracting foreign investors, I focused on that, and it kept me going, I was able to stay scandal-free because I invest in myself a lot, I cultivated a life I want to enjoy in peace,” she added

POGBA: I HAD NO INTEREST IN GIRLS - JUST FOOTBALL

The France international has reaped the benefits of remaining focused on becoming a professional footballer in his youth and says his family have always helped him
Paul Pogba says he was not interested in girls when he was growing up, as his focus was on football.

'It's best just to laugh at Pogba'
The Manchester United midfielder became the most expensive player in football history when he joined from Juventus for £89 million (€105m), despite leaving Old Trafford in 2012 for free to join the Serie A side.

Ever since his emergence at Juve, Pogba has been one of the most promising and highly coveted players in the world, with the Red Devils holding off competition from Real Madrid to sign him, while PSG and Barcelona had previously shown a great deal of interest.

And it appears Pogba's abilities are a result of his determination and avoidance of temptation in his younger years, adding that his family have helped him immensely.

"My family always helped me. I had people around me who always pushed me to be the best, my dad, my mum," Pogba told Sky Sports .

"My dad used to play and coach as well. But I wasn't born with shiny things. I grew up in a flat with my brothers and my cousins. My brothers were in the same bed. It wasn't always easy so you want to do something else so your life can change.

"I wasn't really interested in girls. Only football. I was just enjoying football all the time. There was a five-a-side next to the flat and I used to play there all the time.

"It was all about football. I wanted to be a professional.
That was my goal. I didn't want to be anything other than a footballer."

The France international also opened up about life outside of football, emphasising the influence music has had on him.

"I like rap, R&B and African music," he added. "I listen to it in my car and everywhere. Music makes me happy and in life you have to be happy all the time.

"I just try to do something else because every day I am training and you have to think about football so sometimes it's good to cut it out and think about something else. I like basketball. I used to play ping pong as well."

6 ways to destress this Xmas period

As the year comes to an end you need to find ways to destress despite pressures from almost every corner.
Here are six booze-free ways to unwind.

• Work out
Exercise forces your mind off the cares of the day. If you do it properly and have a really vigorous workout, you’ll feel better because of all the oxygen in your blood. There’ll be endorphins in your system too – call them nature’s Prozac. You need to exercise for at least 40 minutes before they kick in, but they’ll keep working for hours afterwards. The other reason that exercise is good for you is this: most blokes feel guilty when they don’t and justifiably feel good when they do.

• Soak it off

Run yourself a warm – not scalding – bath, and put in a few drops of lavender, juniper, chamomile, geranium, clary sage or sandalwood. Any combination of these is fine, but put in no more than six drops. Then have a soak.

• Laughter is the best medicine
Laughter is good for your blood pressure, so build up a library of stuff that tickles you, whether it’s Calvin and Hobbes collections, Goon Show recordings, Fawlty Towers videos or just your high school yearbook - once you hit a certain age the hairstyles are always good for a chuckle.
Some people find the very idea of gardening stressful, but a bonsai tree or miniature garden can be therapeutic. Plus gardening comes with many health benefits. For example, getting your hands dirty exposes you to friendly bacteria, which can boost your immune system and even your mood. Our bodies actually need a balance of bacteria (the good kind) to be healthy.

• Cook something

Studies show that food odours help reduce stress. So knock up a fragrant curry or some garlicky pasta with pungent parmesan cheese. Just shopping for fresh greens can be therapeutic. Back to the kitchen: if you’re really feeling careworn, slam together a meal that’s high in carbohydrates and has no protein. Think pasta or pasta salad (easy on the oily dressing), rice, a mixture of pulses and grains, or simply a baked potato. This works because carbohydrates trigger the release of serotonin, a brain chemical that calms you.

• Don’t talk shop

Having six beers with the guys from the office may be a tradition, but it’s one that’s worth breaking. Most social events of this sort involve shoptalk, which won’t help anyone relax. And the habit of drinking a lot socially has its own problems. A little of what you fancy is definitely good for you, as long as it’s a little beer, wine, chocolate or biltong, and not cocaine or tobacco.

Massive Funeral Held for 50 Brazilian Footballers And Staff Killed in Colombian Plane Crash

The bodies of 50 players, coaches and staff from the Chapecoense Real football team tragically killed in a Colombian plane crash on Monday arrived home in Brazil Saturday for a massive funeral.

Brazilian President Michel Temer was there to meet the planes on arrival.

"This event, as you know, shook the whole country," President Michel Temer told reporters. "This rain must be St. Peter crying."

As many as 100,000 fans were expected to attend the services, which will take place in Conda Arena in Chapeco.

The pouring rain mimicked the moods of funeral-goers as they gathered to honor the team members that were among the 71 killed when a LaMia airline plane smashed into a mountain in Colombia on Monday night.

“I came to pay a final tribute from the fans to our team," architect Alexandre Bledin, 34, told
Aljazeera. "I still can't believe what happened."

The first-division team was on their way to Medellin for the finals of the Copa Sudamericana, South America's second-biggest club tournament, when the crash occurred.

The plane was carrying 77 passengers and crewmembers.

Six people initially survived the crash, including Chapecoense defender Alan Ruschel, who is in intensive care, backup goalkeeper Jakson Follmann, who has had his right leg amputated, and goalkeeper Marcos Danila.

But, Danila, 31, later died in the hospital.

LAMIA, the charter based company which focuses on flying Latin American football teams, had its permit suspended on Thursday in the midst of an investigation.

The flight reportedly radioed that it was running out of fuel before the crash.
